Stevenage Starlets Football Club

We Are Stevenage Starlets FC

Proud to be the first all girls football club in Stevenage

We are a new football club dedicated to getting more girls playing the game. We are growing fast and welcome new players of all abilities for teams from school year 1 upwards.

We're an England Football Accredited club and are proud to have won a number of awards, including 'Club of the Year' at the Hertfordshire FA Grassroots Awards, the Comet Sports Awards and the Herts Sports Partnership Service to Sport Awards.

Based in Stevenage, we have training on Thursday evenings and play games in the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League on Saturdays.

If you would like to get active, learn new skills, make friends and most importantly have fun playing football, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Goal

We want to get more girls playing

Football is not only a fantastic way for children to improve their fitness and enhance their physical development, it can also be a way to learn vital life skills such as determination, discipline, resilience, and teamwork.

Unfortunately it's not always easy for girls to make the most of this opportunity. While the game is changing, girls teams can still feel like an afterthought in clubs where the focus is primarily on boys football.

We don’t want our girls to feel second best. So we decided to start a club where their needs come first. A place where girls can feel comfortable and confident learning the game and enjoy developing their skills.

Our Goals

Our Values

A club built on strong foundations

It goes without saying that by offering high quality coaching we will help our girls improve their football skills. However we also recognise that some of the most important lessons they will learn with us will be in their heads and not with their feet.

From developing a sense of fair play, to learning how to be humble in victory or gracious in defeat, football can have a significant positive impact on a child's personal development. So we think it's vital to create a culture where attitude is considered just as important as ability.

That's why we set out to build a club with a strong set of values at its heart. Everyone taking part, whether it be players, parents, coaches or volunteers, agree to abide by them. They are:

Integrity, Equality, Trust, Respect, Enjoyment,
Teamwork, Loyalty and Sportsmanship

Working together we can create a positive environment where children are free to have fun and develop their love of the game. To learn more about what is being done across football to ensure it is safe and enjoyable for all (and how you can play your part) visit this page.
