Together Again For Christmas

10 December 2021

It was brilliant to be able to finally bring the girls back together as a group for a Christmas party once again. Although things are still not ‘back to normal’ and there were still plenty of COVID precautions in place, this marked the first time we have been able to organise a club-wide social event for almost two years and the girls really enjoyed it.

With almost 150 of our girls attending, Gravity was filled with the sound of happy Starlets once again as they took over the trampoline park to show off their bouncing skills. Based on the noise alone it’s fair to say the girls had a fantastic time, before tucking into some party food and exchanging the all important Secret Santa gifts.

We know that the club is about so much more than just playing football and an event like this really shows all of the amazing friendships and lifelong memories that are being created as part of what we do. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in making this special day happen.

A Time for Giving

Of course Christmas is also a time for spreading goodwill to all and we are proud to our annual appeal to support those in need was more successful than ever.

We’d asked the everyone to make donations in the run up to Christmas so that we could donate these to a local foodbank to create some festive cheer for hard pressed families in our area. The response across the club was more than we ever expected with a truly impressive haul of food and gifts.

We recently delivered an amazing 52 Christmas meal bags to the Foodshed, along with many more trays and boxes of tins, toiletries and household products, which will all be put to good use over the coming months.

Massive thanks everyone for your incredible generosity. We hope that by taking part we have not only made a few Christmases a little more merry and bright, but also that our girls gained an understanding of what our club values mean outside of football. We are so proud to be part of this amazing community.

All that remains is for everyone at Stevenage Starlets to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2022!
