Starlets Meet England's Lionesses

Starlets Meet the Lionesses

A lucky group of girls from Stevenage Starlets FC today had the honour of visiting the FA's national football centre at St. George's Park to see England's finest female players in training for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

An early start and long drive did nothing to dampen the excitement of the group, who got to see first hand what it takes to be the best as the Lionesses were put through their paces in a hour long session overseen by new England boss Phil Neville.

If that wasn't inspiration enough for our little Starlets, it was quickly followed by a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet their idols face to face, with the whole England squad lining up to sign autographs and speak with our girls.

It was fantastic to see just how much it meant to these young football fans to get up close and personal with players they are more used to seeing in sticker books or watching on TV.

We cannot thank the Lionesses enough for being so generous with their time. We would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone at The FA and St. George's Park who made this possible, it is very much appreciated by all of us.

It was a day that created so many amazing memories and will inspire these girls football dreams for many years to come.

PS. We also got to see some Starlets gracing the homepage of the FA website. Wonder how many might be there again one day as Lionesses themselves... #dreambig
